What is Wellington Works?
Wellington Works is a campaign by Unions Wellington—the local affiliate of the New Zealand Council of Trade Unions (NZCTU).

We’re dedicated to putting workers, Wellingtonians, and the spirit of public service back at the centre of local public services in Wellington city.

The campaign advocates for returning the delivery of local services from private contractors to directly-employed council workers to ensure:

• higher standards of service delivery
• improved job security and fairer wages for workers
• increased democratic accountability
• long-term cost-effectiveness for the city’s residents and ratepayers.
